Karen was moved to a recliner where she could be more comfortable and also see outside the window. That’s her first time out of bed in two weeks. I bet the window is better than the view of the hospital room ceiling! For those who are not in Omaha, it’s a bright, sunny cold day (temps about 30 degrees).
They’re also doing a procedure right now (in radiology) to drain about a liter of fluid from her right lung. She is given a local anesthetic then a needle is inserted to draw the fluid off. Hopefully this helps the pneumonia and eases her breathing. They’re also giving blood thinners to help dissolve the clots.
One other concern: Karen’s blood pressure continues to rise. So far, the drugs they have given her did not bring it down, so this is a specific matter for prayer (in addition to the other concerns).

I am just so thrilled to hear Karen was out of bed and doing so great. We all realize she has a way to go obviously, but things are turning around pretty quick now. All of us can’t wait to talk to her, just if it’s just for a few minutes so please let us know when that is a “go”!!!!!
Thank you so much for keeping us all informed as much as you all are doing!!!!
