Respirator Trial

This morning the Respiratory Therapist turned down the respirator settings so Karen was breathing on her own. The breathing rate went up to 60 and the total volume went down to 200 (it should be 400-500). That means that she was breathing very fast and shallow, and that’s not what we hoped for. The lung doctor (I also missed his name) decided to give her another day then try again.

I had hoped that the trial would have gone better, but we’ll have to wait until tomorrow.

Thanks for all the info and progress on Karen. I could not help but think of her while watching Dancing With The Stars. She is a star and she is going to get better. I know when our son Jeff was so very ill and they did this same thing with the vent and we prayed and waited and some days were not as good as others, but when it was all said and done…he did get off the ventilator and we know that it was only through the power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jeff you are so right…it is in times like these that we cling to every word HE GIVES US .. I found that I was so weak when Jeff was ill and I had to really depend on my Christian friends to pray. We had words above Jeff’s bed that said WE ANTICIPATE THE INEVITABLE SUPER NATURAL INTERVENTION OF GOD….
I can hardly wait to talk to the dancing queen….L:ove Mary Lynn for the Simmons/Ohio
