Mom is still in the ER. The pulminary doc will be performing a procedure to drain fluid from her lungs (again.) Since she experienced such excruciating pain last time, Dad has given instructions to have pain meds administered before the procedure begins.
She is also struggling with fluid retention, and has gained an additional 23lbs. of fluid since Sunday! That’s a total of 63lbs. – only in fluids from 11/17 till now!!
Dr. Cooney (Internal Medicine specialist) suggests her liver is failing, and is not allowing her body to metabolize the fluids properly, ending in retention. He will be focusing on a solution to that problem over the next couple of days.
