Things that make you go “Hmm…”

I was unable to visit Mom until late in the day today, and even though she reassured me several times over the phone she was doing well, I discovered otherwise.

She has being experiencing pain near her liver, for some unknown time (12-18hours?). It’s a constant dull pain, but becomes sharp shooting when she takes a deep breath or coughs. When asked to rate her pain, she says, “I’m fine, it’s no big deal.”  She was also shaking as if she was freezing, but wasn’t cold at all. She blames it on being really hungry, but I totally disagree.

When I first arrived she had an elevated heart rate of 107, blood pressure of 167/98, blood glucose of 162mg/dl, and a low grade fever (99.4).  After receiving medication, just an hour later she was down to a heart rate of 96, & blood pressure of 147/86.

I know my mom very well, and I know when she’s “different”.  Today, she seemed different.

Please pray that her pain goes away, and she returns back to the path of recovery.
